Matt is a graduate of the Northern Illinois University College of Business and has worked in the Hardware / Co-op channel for nearly 20 years. His experience stems from a long career as Product Merchant at the True Value Company corporate offices in Chicago, IL. Matt’s responsibilities consisted of managing the daily business operations for both basic hardware and seasonal merchandising categories including: electrical, outdoor power equipment, and lawn & garden. This is where he negotiated and developed successful merchandise programs and retail assortments while also coordinating advertising strategies and promotional pricing. This was beneficial to both member retailers and the co-op by maximizing their sales and margin goals. Matt’s experience at True Value has given him the ability to guide manufacturers to design their programs and assortments in a manner that meets or exceeds the expectations of the hardware channel product managers.
